3 suspects arrested, P10.2M in meth seized in Lanao del Sur, Cotabato City drug busts
COTABATO CITY—Anti-narcotics agents arrested three drug suspects and seized 1.5 kilograms of meth worth P10.2 million in separate buy-bust operations in Lanao del Sur province and Catabato City on Thursday (March 4).
Director Juvenal Azurin, head of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), said suspect Romie Diamillah Hadji Alawi was arrested in an operation in Malabang town, Lanao del Sur. it was conducted by PDEA agents, soldiers and Marines at the village of Matalin past 11 a.m.
Seized from Alawi’s possession were a kilo of meth, a mobile phone believed to be used in drug trading, a caliber .22 pistol and a Toyota Hi-Lux pickup truck.
In Cotabato City, PDEA agents backed by police arrested Saidin Campong and Salipudin Usop at Poblacion village around 11 a.m.
Seized were 500 grams of meth, mobile phones, a Suzuki mini van and various identification cards.
Azurin said the suspects are now detained in the PDEA custodial facility in Cotabato City while charges are being prepared. Inquirer Mindanao
