DAGUPAN CITY—The city government on Thursday (March 4) relaxed the ban on alcoholic drinks, allowing their sale but not consumption in public places or establishments.
Mayor Brian Lim issued an executive order allowing the selling and distribution of liquor and alcoholic beverages.
But serving and consumption of these in public and in all business establishments remain prohibited.
The ban was re-imposed on Jan. 4, the third time it was enforced by the city government following a surge in COVID-19 cases.
Lim first ordered the ban from March until May 2020 at the of the pandemic and was lifted when COVID-19 cases dropped. It was again imposed from Sept. 18 to Nov. 3, 2020.
Dagupan has only 18 cases as of March 3, and no new cases in the last five days.
