‘Nanlaban’ in Ecija: 2 drug suspects dead in buy-bust operations

CABANATUAN CITY—Two drug suspects were killed in separate buy-bust operations in Nueva Ecija province on Tuesday (March 2), according to police.

The slain suspects were identified as Alfie Tuazon, of San Isidro town, and Dennis Enage, of this city.

Investigation showed that Tuazon tried to elude arrest by running to a house when he sensed that he was transacting with an undercover agent around 9 a.m.

Tuazon then fired shots at responding policemen and was killed in the gunfight.

Forensic investigators found the P1,000 buy-bust money, a small packet of meth and a 9 mm pistol in Tuazon’s possession.

Tuazon was on the town police’s drug suspect list and believed to head a drug gang named after him, according to Maj. Joel dela Cruz, San Isidro town police chief.

Enage was killed in a clash with members of the Cabanatuan City police’s drug enforcement unit.

Lt. Col. Barnard Danie Dasugo, city police chief, said Enage resisted arrest and opened fire at policemen.

Found in Enage’s possession were a meth packet, marked bills, a .45 caliber pistol and a motorcycle.

Both operations were made in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, police said.
