Warm weather to persist while amihan recurs in Northern and Central Luzon

MANILA, Philippines — Easterlies or warm winds from the Pacific Ocean will continue to bring the heat in many parts of the country as Northern and Central Luzon will again feel the northeast monsoon or amihan starting Tuesday.

The latest bulletin from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) issued Monday afternoon showed there are also chances of isolated thunderstorms as the easterlies blow mostly over the eastern portions of the country.

(We are expecting that from tomorrow, Tuesday, up to Wednesday, the effects of amihan will be felt once again over Northern and Central Luzon. Here in Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Cagayan Valley, albeit the recurrence of amihan will have generally fair weather.)

“Kung may mga pag-ulan, pulo-pulo at mahihina lamang. Pero sa ibang bahagi ng Luzon kasama na ang Metro Manila, patuloy na makakaranas ng maiinit at maalinsangang panahon, at may banta pa rin po ng mga isolated thunderstorms lalo sa hapon at sa gabi,” he added.

Meanwhile, the country’s usual summer destinations Baguio City and Tagaytay will feel it at 15 to 23 degrees Celsius and 22 to 30 degrees Celsius, respectively.
