MANILA, Philippines — The country’s Covid-19 testing czar Vince Dizon got inoculated against the new coronavirus with CoronaVac, the Covid-19 vaccine from China’s Sinovac Biotech, on Monday.
Dizon was vaccinated at the Dr. Jose N. Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center and Sanitarium (Tala) in Caloocan City.
“Kakatapos ko lang po, at ngayon ay minimotor. Kaka-take lang ng aking blood pressure at vital signs so kailangan po, 30 minutes ay imonitor po muna tayo,” he confirmed in an interview with ABS-CBN’s Teleradyo.
(I just got vaccinated. Now I am being monitored. They monitored my blood pressure and vital signs. I have to be monitored for 30 minutes.)
The vaccine given to Dizon was among the 600,000 doses of CoronaVac that were donated by the government of China to the Philippines.
The vaccine doses arrived in the Philippines on Sunday and were later transported to the Philippine General Hospital, Lung Center of the Philippines, Dr. Jose N. Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center and Sanitarium (Tala), Veterans Memorial Medical Center, Philippine National Police General Hospital in Camp Crame, and Victoriano Luna Medical Center.
