TUGUEGARAO CITY — Marijuana plants worth an estimated P8-million were destroyed in Tingalayan, Kalinga by operatives from the Philippine National Police (PNP) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) last Thursday, belated police report said.
The marijuana plants were being cultivated in five sites in Barangay (village) Loccong.
The Philippine National Police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency launched the Loccong crackdown following last week’s confiscation of 41 packs of marijuana bricks and 500 grams of shabu (crystal meth) in Quezon, Isabela, said Police Lt. Col. Andree Camhol-Abella, PNP-Cagayan Valley regional spokesperson.
The PNP and PDEA operatives burned 21,600 marijuana plants, 30 dried marijuana stalks, and a kilo of marijuana seeds.
