MANILA, Philippines — The country on Friday reported 2,651 additional infections of the coronavirus disease — the highest number of new Covid-19 cases so far this 2021 — propelling the nation’s total number of cases to 571,327.
In its case bulletin at 4 p.m., the Department of Health (DOH) also reported that the total active cases reached 34,498, which is six percent of the total Covid-19 caseload in the country.
Meanwhile, DOH reported 561 recoveries and 46 more fatalities of the disease, bringing the total count of recoveries and deaths to 524,582 and 12,247, respectively.
Four duplicated cases, including a recovered case, were deleted from the total case count, DOH said.
The department added that 20 cases previously classified as recoveries were updated to deaths.
