Arroyos request DFA to keep details of Iggy Arroyo remains’ repatriation secret
MANILA, Philippines—The family of Negros Occidental Representative Ignacio “Iggy” Arroyo has asked the government not to make public “details about the repatriation” of the remains of the late lawmaker, the Department of Foreign Affairs said.
Citing a report of the Philippine Embassy in London, DFA spokesman Raul Hernandez told the Philippine Daily Inquirer on Sunday that “in keeping with the request of (Arroyo’s) family, it is not in a position to disclose to the public details about the repatriation of his remains.”
Hernandez did not make any further comment on the issue.
On Friday, Hernandez disclosed, “Wala pang abiso galing sa ating embahada (There has been no notification from the embassy [regarding the repatriation of Arroyo’s body]).”
