MANILA, Philippines — The inoculation of newspaper columnist Ramon Tulfo with an unregistered Covid-19 vaccine from Sinopharm will be included in the investigation on unauthorized vaccinations, the Department of Health (DOH) said Wednesday.
“‘Yung mga ganyan, katulad nyan may lumalabas pa rin na ibang tao na umaamin na nabakunahan sila, ito po ay makakasama sa investigation, and all of these things kapag nakita natin na hindi ayon sa mga batas na meron tayo dito sa ating bansa will be considered illegal,” Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said in an online press conference when asked about the admission of Tulfo that he already got vaccinated against Covid-19.
(Cases wherein people admit they have been vaccinated will be included in investigation, and if we see that the vaccinations are not aligned with the law, these will be considered illegal.)
“So kung sino man po ‘yung mga kababayan natin o di kaya ay distributors na nagbibigay ng mga bakuna na wala pang emergency use authority ay magkakaroon ng appropriate investigation, and if there will be violations magkakasanction so titingnan po natin ito,” she added.
(So the distributors who will give the vaccines without emergency use authorization will be investigated and there will be sanctions if there are violations.)
In his newspaper column on Saturday, Tulfo admitted that he already got vaccinated with Covid-19 inoculation jabs from China’s Sinopharm.
In an interview with ABS-CBN’s Teleradyo on Wednesday, he said he got vaccinated because he wants to see the effects of the jabs, since he wants to become a distributor of the Sinopharm vaccines in the Philippines.
