MANILA, Philippines — Most areas in the country can expect better weather conditions starting Wednesday since the northeast monsoon or amihan and the tail end of a frontal system will only affect the northern and eastern portions of Luzon, state meteorologists said.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration’s (Pagasa) weather bulletin issued Tuesday afternoon said improving weather situations can also be attributed to the dissipation of the low-pressure area, previously Tropical Storm Auring, earlier this day.
It also said only Cagayan Valley and Aurora province will be affected by the frontal system, which will cause cloudy skies and isolated rains there.
The northeast monsoon, meanwhile, will affect the rest of northern Luzon, including the Ilocos Region and Cordillera Administrative Region.
As for the temperature on Wednesday, Pagasa said Luzon will be a bit warmer compared to Monday’s as Metro Manila and Laoag may feel it at around 23 to 31 degrees Celsius while Tuguegarao and Tagaytay will have it at 21 to 29 degrees Celsius, Baguio at 16 to 25 degrees Celsius, Legazpi at 24 to 32 degrees Celsius, and Palawan at 25 to 31 degrees Celsius.
Visayas and Mindanao will likewise be warmer after enduring Auring. In Iloilo and Zamboanga, temperatures will be between 24 and 32 degrees Celsius, while 25 to 31 degrees Celsius climate might hit Cebu, according to Pagasa, as 24 to 31 degrees Celsius condition will be felt in Tacloban, 25 to 33 degrees Celsius in Davao, and 23 to 31 degrees Celsius in Cagayan de Oro.
However, the state weather bureau noted that isolated rain showers are still probable in some parts of the country especially by Wednesday afternoon and night.
On the other hand, Pagasa kept its gale warning over the extreme northern Luzon, specifically seaboards of northern Ilocos Region, Batanes, Babuyan, and Cagayan Valley.
