MANILA, Philippines — The Taguig City local government has announced the expansion of its contact tracing app that would also cover the city’s services such as health benefits and social services.
In a statement on Monday, officials said that its Taguig Registry for Assessment and City Engagements (TRACE) app would also serve as a pre-requisite in getting vaccinated against COVID-19.
The app will also enable residents and the city’s visitors to access the city’s local programs and services such as cash gifts, scholarships, and other forms of assistance.
Launched in 2020, the TRACE app generates a QR code that serves as a personal digital identification and health declaration form. This app is being used in establishments as well as in the Taguig City Hall for contact tracing purposes.
Registration for TRACE can be done through either the app available for Android and iOS devices, website application, or self-service kiosks and door-to-door registration procedure for those who do not have access to technology, the Taguig LGU said.
