Itbayat mayor dies due to kidney illness

ITBAYAT, BATANES –– The mayor of this town died on Tuesday, Feb. 23, due to a lingering kidney illness, people close to him said. He was 59.

Mayor Raul de Sagon died while being treated at the Itbayat District Hospital.

He was supposed to be transferred to Basco town for hemoglobin and blood transfusion but passed away at 3:15 a.m.
