LUCENA CITY –– A 65-year-old motorcycle rider died in an accident in Lucban town in Quezon province on Monday night, a police report said Tuesday, Feb. 23.
The police said farmer Pedro Tabi was riding his motorcycle on his way home when he was accidentally bumped by a van being driven by Ignacio Tabernilla along the national road in Barangay Kulapi around 8 p.m.
Tabi died while being taken to a hospital at the town center due to fatal injuries.
Tabernilla told the police that he did not notice the motorcycle rider when he was driving, which led to the accident, the police said.
The report also described the road at the accident site as “slippery” due to rainfall.
The suspect is under the custody of the police station while the investigation continues.
