MANILA, Philippines — Cloudy skies with possibility of scattered rains are expected over Metro Manila and parts of Luzon due to the low-pressure area formerly known as Tropical Depression Auring (international name: Dujuan), the state weather bureau said Tuesday.
In its 5 a.m. live weather update, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that the LPA was last spotted at 105 kilometers east of Infanta, Quezon.
“In the next 24 hours, inaasahan po natin na ito ay malulusaw (We can expect that this will dissipate in the next 24 hours.),” weather specialist Shelly Ignacio said of the LPA.
This LPA, Ignacio added, will bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorm over Metro Manila, Cordillera Administrative Region, Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan), Central Luzon, Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon), Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, and Camarines Norte.
Ignacio added that the northeast monsoon or amihan is currently affecting weather conditions over Northern Luzon, bringing partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over the Ilocos Region and the rest of Cagayan Valley.
And the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms.
