Robredo’s FB post on Covid-19 gets most ‘love’ reactions from May 2020 to January 2021 — study
MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Leni Robredo’s Facebook post featuring her report to the nation video garnered the most “heart reactions” compared to other Facebook posts in the Philippines about Covid-19 and education, according to a study released by a research firm.
Based on a study by political campaign consultancy firm BluePrint.PH released Friday, Robredo’s Ulat, Mungkahi Ukol sa Pandemya at Mensahe ng Pag-asa video posted on her official Facebook page on July 29, 2020, mostly had a positive engagement on the site.
“VP Robredo’s July report and suggestions [on] Covid-19 had gained 50% love [reactions] out of nearly 100,000 reactions. Based on our findings, this report by VP Robredo appeared in 6 posts, with 40 to 50% love reactions in each post,” the firm noted on its report.
BluePrint.PH’s study was aimed to show the sentiments of Filipinos towards Covid-19 from March 17, 2020 to January 31 this year. The firm scanned and gathered data amounting to 35,613 posts or 12.7 million data posts that are publicly available on Facebook.
Posts related to education mostly had like reactions with 70%, love with 15%, sad with 5%, and angry with 3%.

“Love reactions spiked 4 times, first observed in May,” said the firm, which pertains to a post on the Tertiary Education Subsidy, wherein 103 students received their stipend in Mariano Marcos State University.
It is then followed by Robredo’s post, which the firm noted as the “highest spike” recorded on the set timeline.

Another Facebook post from Robredo’s page gained 45,659 reactions, 14,498 of the sum are love reactions or at least 32% of the total 15% love reactions in posts scanned by BluePrint.PH.
Meanwhile, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) deputy administrator Mocha Uson’s Facebook post about the Malasakit Center had 54,541 reactions, 11,641 of those are love reactions or 21%.
“Other posts that had at least 20% love are on President Duterte’s measures to respond to Covid-19 and Bong Go’s priority bills mentioned in the 2020 SONA, [and] a webinar series on Child Protection,” the study stated.
On the other hand, the following Facebook posts had a high percentage of anger emoticons or reactions according to BluePrint.PH:
- Two posts on limited face-to-face classes for low-risk areas starting January 2021 (79% and 27%).
- Three posts about the lack of budget allocation for teachers with Covid-19 (50%, 39%, and 31%).
- Robredo’s report and suggestions, “though it had a lot of love, it also had 20% anger emoticons,” said the firm.
Haha emoticons or reactions were also seen in several posts including:
- Education Secretary Leonor Briones’ claim on the success of blended learning (83% and 68% in two separate posts).
- Six separate posts on Robredo’s suggestions and recommendations on Covid-19 also had 37%, 44%, 54%, 59%, 61%, 44% “hahas.”

Overall, posts regarding incidents of suicide deaths and accidents involving students ranked first in the firm’s top posts on education and Covid-19.
“The posts raised mental health and risks of students on online, blended, or modular learning.”
