AT LEAST 300 individuals were displaced when a fire struck barangay Lahug, Cebu City, last Friday night.
Lahug barangay captain Jovito Taborada said the fire victims were occupying a lot owned by the city government.
Property damage was estimated at P380,000.
The fire broke out at 9:12 p.m. and was put under control in 15 minutes, said Senior Supt. Aderson Comar, fire marshal of the Cebu City Fire Department.
Flor Fuentes, a resident, sustained second-degree burns.
Comar said the fire started at the house owned by Glenn Lukaylukay.
However, some witnesses said the fire started at the second floor of Fuentes’ house.
Social workers yesterday listed 36 households, 43 families and 290 individuals who were affected by the fire./CORRESPONDENT CHITO O. ARAGON
