The Bureau of Customs (BOC) seized P9 million worth of smuggled Chinese goods, including medicines marketed as treatment for mild and moderate COVID-19 cases, during Friday’s raid on a warehouse on Sunrise Street in Tambo, Parañaque City. Alvin Enciso, chief of customs intelligence and investigation service, said Lianhua Qingwen capsules were among the items seized. “Most of the goods are Lianhua Qingwen, which is used as medicine for COVID-19,” Enciso said. —Tina G.
