MANILA, Philippines — Charlie Duhaylungsod Fortuna, high value target who was arrested in a Mandaue City raid in 2019, allegedly had links to the Parojinogs in Ozamiz City, Misamis Occidental, Philippine National Police chief General Debold Sinas said Friday.
After serving a freeze order on Fortuna’s property in a posh village in Mandaue, Sinas revealed that the police have reports showing that Fortuna’s parents are also connected to the Parojinogs.
“Based on our reports malaki po sila [Fortuna’s operations]. Sila ang pagseservice ng Mandaue on part of Cebu. They are connected to Parojinog. Si Duhaylungsod, parents niya ay connected sa parojinog. Karamihan sa workers niyan, couriers, ay from Ozamiz,” Sinas told reporters when asked about their probe on Fortuna’s drug operations.

During the 2019 raid, Sinas said police operatives recovered several receipts, deposit slips, bank accounts, and title of his property to prove the drug links.
President Rodrigo Duterte earlier tagged the Parojinogs in Ozamiz City, Misamis Occidental of being elected officials allegedly have links in the narcotics trade.
Fortuna was arrested in February 2019, during a raid where P51 million worth of crystal meth or shabu were confiscated. During this time, Sinas was chief of police in Central Visayas.
After a financial probe, the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) found that Fortuna has 10 bank accounts for his narcotics operations.
The drug suspect also has two properties for his drug trafficking activities, one in Mandaue City and another in Ozamiz City, based on the ALMC probe.
