ORMOC CITY—A meat vendor was shot and killed by unidentified assailants at his stall at a village in Calbayog City on Wednesday (Feb. 17).

Michael Mekitpekit Alenio, 40, was cutting pork at his store when two men on a motorcycle appeared.

One of the assailants shot Alenio repeatedly with a still unknown gun, according to Lt. Col. Neil Montano, of the Calbayog police.

Investigators have yet to identify the killers or the motive as is common in countless cases of assassinations in the country.
