Two more drug suspects were killed in buy-bust operations that ended in gunfights in Cavite, bringing the total number of slain drug personalities in the province to six in the past three days.

Colonel Marlon Santos, Cavite police chief, said in a report posted by the Cavite police public information office on Facebook on Feb. 18 that the slain suspects were killed when they resisted arrest after drug sting operations in Bacoor City and Tanza town.

Both suspects were on the police drug watch list.

According to the report, the suspects sensed that they were dealing with undercover police officers, which resulted in gunfights that led to their deaths.

The report said the police found a .45-caliber pistol and another .9 mm-caliber gun and bullets in the suspects’ possession.

The police also recovered five spent bullet shells from the crime scene, nine plastic sachets of shabu (crystal meth), cash, and drug-sniffing paraphernalia.

On Feb. 17, the police reported that another unidentified drug suspect classified as a “high-value” target was also killed in a buy-bust operation in Cavite City.

The day before, the Cavite police killed three drug suspects in separate operations in General Trias City and the towns of Indang and Naic.

Santos also reported that 33 other drug suspects were nabbed in 23 buy-bust operations in different parts of Cavite in the past 24 hours.

At least 31 violators of coronavirus disease health and safety community protocols were also accosted in different parts of the province.
