MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte is expected to certify as urgent a bill seeking to establish a compensation fund for those getting Covid-19 vaccines, Malacañang said.
“Inaasahan din pong mapipirmahan ang certification of urgency nung mga nakabinbin na indemnification bill,” Presidential spokesman Harry Roque said in a Palace briefing.
(We are expecting the President to sign the certification of urgency of the pending indemnification bill.)
Cabinet members earlier asked the President to certify as urgent the said proposed law.
A Senate bill seeking to establish a P500-million indemnity fund for Covid-19 vaccine side effects has reached the plenary.
Senate Bill No. 2057 or the proposed Covid-19 Vaccination Program Act of 2021 also seeks to expedite the procurement and administration of Covid-19 vaccines in the country.
