Man, 21, admits to killing 8-year-old sis due to ‘heated argument’
ILIGAN CITY –– A 21-year-old man in Salvador town, Lanao del Norte has recently admitted to police that he killed his 8-year-old stepsister after a “heated argument.”
Major Mohammad Doro, Salvador municipal police chief, said Marvin Emphasis, who is now in police custody, had admitted to investigators that he killed Roselyn Emphasis.
Roselyn was reported missing last Feb. 8. She was found dead on Feb. 11, placed inside a sack, and left in a grassland in the village of Mabatao.
Doro said Roselyn’s mother, Rosemarie, told the police that Marvin was the last person seen with the child, citing the account of neighbors.
This prompted the Mabatao officials, led by village chief Temoteo Abalayan, to seek Marvin and turn him over to the police.
Doro said Marvin recounted having a “heated argument” with Roselyn before killing her, although it was not yet known what they were arguing about.
