Parts of Metro Manila, Bulacan to experience power interruptions this week

MANILA, Philippines — Customers of Manila Electric Company (Meralco) in cities of Manila and Makati in Metro Manila, and Balagtas in Bulacan will experience power interruptions this week due to maintenance activities.

In an advisory on Wednesday, Meralco announced that power interruptions in Binondo and San Nicolas in Manila City will be between 11:30 p.m. and 11:59 p.m. on Thursday (February 18) and then between 5 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. on Friday (February 19).

This is due to the reconstruction of facilities to give way to the ongoing construction of Binondo-Intramuros Bridge along Muelle De Binondo St. in Binondo, Manila.

Affected areas are portions of Muelle De Binondo St., San Fernando St., Sto. Cristo St., Jaboneros St., Elcano St., Barraca St., Rentas St., Ingreso St., Hormiga St., Juan Luna St., and Quintin Paredes St.

Power interruptions in Balagtas, Bulacan, on the other hand, will be on Thursday between 1:00 a.m. and 6 a.m due to line maintenance works along North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), North Bound in Barangay Dalig.

Affected areas will be portions of Pandi-Balagtas Road near NLEX in Barangay Borol.

Meanwhile, the scheduled interruption in Makati City will be between 9 a.m and 5 p.m on Saturday (February 20) in Sta. Cruz, and 9:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Sunday (February 21) in West Rembo.

Affected areas on Saturday will be portions of Circuit Makati to Kamagong including portions of South Ave. from Santa Cruz Multipurpose Hall to Yague St. including Benitez Elementary School and portions of Pablo Ocampo Sr. Ext. St. from South Ave. to and including M. Unidos St.; and Zaragoza Residences Makati.

This is due to the line reconstruction works along South Ave. in Bgy. Sta. Cruz, Makati City.

On Sunday will be portions of Circuit Taguig 48ZL of West Rembo Ave. from A. Mabini St. to T. Alonzo St., portions of T. Alonzo St. from near J. P. Rizal Ave. Ext. (Guadalupe – Pateros Road) to and including T. Alonzo Ext., Mangga and Corpuz Sts.; and Teachers’ Compound, caused by line reconstruction works along A. Mabini St. and West Rembo Ave. in Bgy.
