MANILA, Philippines — Will Gilbert “Gibo” Teodoro run for a national post in the 2022 elections?
The former defense secretary and 2010 presidential candidate has yet to make a formal announcement but he seems to be dropping hints of it.
On Wednesday, he posted a photo on Facebook with the words “Hail 2022.”
Prior to that, he changed his cover picture on Facebook last week with a green check beside the year 2022.
During the 2010 polls, Teodoro conceded defeat to his second cousin, then leading presidential candidate Ninoy Aquino, who eventually won as President.
In 2016, Teodoro turned down President Rodrigo Duterte’s offer to be his defense chief.
Teodoro served as defense secretary during the administration of president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. He also served as representative of the 1st District of Tarlac from 1998 to 2007.
