MANILA, Philippines — The Manila City government has established an action center to answer the queries of its constituents who want to register for the Covid-19 vaccination.
Manila Health Officer Dr. Arnold Pangan said Tuesday that hotlines under the Manila Covid-19 Vaccine Action Center (MCVAC) have been readied to also answer questions of the city’s residents about the vaccines itself.
“Our action center will be there to respond to the needs of individuals who will get vaccinated. The MCVAC will guide you from Step 1 until the post-vaccination process,” Pangan said in a statement.
“An emergency response team which consists of a doctor and an ambulance complete with medical emergency kits will be on standby in case there are any adverse events following immunization. If the need arises, an individual will then be sent to the nearest hospital in Manila,” he added.
Pangan encouraged the public to contact the MCVAC through the following mobile numbers for inquiries about the vaccination program: 0927-351-0849, 0915-703-0621, 0968-572-1975 or 0961-020-2655.
He noted that the launching of the MCVAC is in line with the local government unit’s (LGU) preparation for the free Covid-19 vaccination for more or less a million individuals.
Earlier, Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso said the LGU has identified 18 sites for the vaccination drive.
He said the LGU is eyeing to vaccinate 18,000 residents per day.
All vaccinated individuals will receive a ‘vaccination passport’ from the MHD, while medical personnel from the MCVAC will also do evaluations and reports about the city’s vaccination program.
