The University of the Philippines College of Dentistry (UPCD) will celebrate its 97th anniversary with week-long activities from Feb. 6-10.
According to event organizers UPCD Dean Vicente O. Medina III, UP Dental Alumni Association president Dr. Arnon L. Rivera and incoming president Dr. Armin G. Segarra, the celebration, with its theme “Patuloy na Tumutugon sa Tawag ng Pahanon,” will be ushered in by a one day scientific session, “Mastering Soft and Hard Tissue Management: A Patient-Centered Approach for Maximum Gains,” at the Manila Peninsula Hotel featuring world dental experts Prof. Fridus van der Wijden of Amsterdam, Ian Meyers of Australia and Dr. Regina Santos-Morales of the Philippines. It will also be highlighted by Research Methodology and Research Design Workshop on Feb. 8 at the UP College of Dentistry; and a grand gathering of the alumni, faculty members, staff and students of the UPCD with Batangas Gov. Vilma Santos-Recto as guest of honor and keynote speaker on Feb. 10 at the UP Balay ng Alumni.
