LUCENA CITY –– At least seven of the 22 new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases recorded in San Pablo City over the weekend are senior citizens, local authorities said.
The San Pablo City Anti-COVID-19 Task Force, in their reports on Facebook on Feb.13 and 14, said the new validated virus carriers in the city include five males ages 63, 65, 66, 72, and 75 and two women, 68 and 71.
Four of them have mild symptoms, while three are asymptomatic. Three of the patients have records of exposure to confirmed virus carriers.
The three patients are under home quarantine and treatment, two are quartered in the government isolation facility, while the other two are confined in undisclosed hospitals.
The youngest COVID-19 case in the latest tally was identified as a 5-year-old girl who had no recent travel outside of the locality, but also had a record of exposure to a COVID-19 patient.
The girl, who has mild symptoms, is under home quarantine and treatment.
With the 22 new confirmed virus carriers, the city has logged a total of 1,188 COVID-19 cases, 1,097 recoveries, and 37 fatalities.
The city has 54 remaining active cases.
