Military identifies 46 areas as vaccination sites
MANILA, Philippines — The military has designated 46 of its camps and infirmaries as vaccination sites for the nationwide government rollout of COVID-19 vaccines.
Maj. Gen. Edgard Arevalo, spokesperson for the Armed Forces of the Philippines, said on Sunday that 30 of the 46 sites had been approved by the Department of Health (DOH) while the remaining 16 would still be inspected by the DOH.
Arevalo told reporters that the sites were “ideal” for the national vaccination program.
“Primarily, accessibility was our consideration,” he said. He added that security was another consideration. “The 46 vaccine sites all over the Philippines, the AFP recommended those. The number is composed of camps and military treatment facilities,” he said.
