DOH: Covid-19 situation in Cebu City still manageable

MANILA, Philippines — Philippines logged 1,960 additional coronavirus disease (Covid-19) infections, increasing the country’s total tally to 547,255.

The Department of Health’s Saturday case bulletin showed that 34,967 or 6.4 percent of the total cases are active.

DOH reported 133 additional survivors and 12 fatalities of the severe respiratory ailment, bringing the total number of recoveries and deaths to 500,781 and 11,507, respectively.

The health department again revised the country’s Covid-19 caseload, with five duplicates, including two recoveries, removed.

DOH also said four recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation.

To date, 44 patients of the more contagious coronavirus disease variant or B.1.1.7 were reported in the country.
