Lone Covid-19 patient in Romblon recovers, test results of 86 others pending
LUCENA CITY – The only active coronavirus disease 2019 patient in the island-province of Romblon has recovered, making the whole province Covid-free, authorities reported Saturday.
The municipality of Santa Fe announced on social media early Saturday morning that the asymptomatic patient, a 34-year-old woman, has been declared by local health authorities as “recovered” after she completed a 14-day quarantine period in an isolation facility.
Provincial health authorities, however, said that the swab test results of 86 other individuals are pending as of Friday, Feb. 12.
“She returned home to continue her self-monitoring,” the Santa Fe local government unit said on social media.
All close contacts of the former patient who were subjected to reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) also tested negative for the virus.
