MANILA, Philippines — A Magnitude 4.6 earthquake hit the province of Antique on Friday night, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
According to Phivolcs’ latest bulletin, the earthquake’s epicenter was located 34 kilometers southwest of Barbaza town, at a shallow depth of just 15 kilometers below the ground.
Intensity III was felt in Barbaza and other Antique towns, including Patnongon, Sibalom, and Tibiao. On the other hand, Intensity II was recorded in San Jose de Buenavista in Antique also, and Libacao and Madalag in Aklan province.
Instrumental Intensities were also noted:
Intensity III: Sebaste, Valderama (Antique)
Intensity II: San Jose de Buenavista
Intensity I: Bago City, Negros Occidental
Phivolcs said that no damage and no aftershocks are expected as of now. No tsunami warnings were issued.
