Elderly woman dies at Silay City hospital
BACOLOD CITY –– A 71-year-old locally stranded individual died at a hospital after she went unconscious upon arrival at the Bacolod Silay Airport last Tuesday.
Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said the woman arrived at the Bacolod Silay Airport on board a Cebu Pacific plane.
She was rushed to the Teresita L. Jalandoni Provincial Hospital (TLJPH) in Silay City, where she died.
“We believe she had a stroke during the flight,” Diaz said.
The Silay City Emergency Response Team immediately transported the woman to the TLJPH, where she was attended to, but a relative requested that she be transferred to a private hospital in Bacolod City.
While preparations were being made for the transfer, the patient was believed to have suffered a second stroke and died.
