Magnitude 4.6 quake rocks Babuyan Islands
MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.6 earthquake hit the Babuyan Islands on Friday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.
According to Phivolcs, the quake was recorded at 11:37 a.m., with the epicenter traced 30 kilometers northwest of Babuyan Island.
Phivolcs said the quake, which was of tectonic origin, had a depth of 83 kilometers.
No damage was recorded while aftershocks are also not expected, said Phivolcs.
