Gov’t employee face raps for unlicensed firearm, ammunition, explosive in Samar

TACLOBAN CITY –– A government employee is facing charges for allegedly keeping an unlicensed firearm, ammunition, and explosive in an entrapment operation in Calbiga town, Samar on Wednesday, Feb.10.

Amador Cardeño, 29, was arrested by the combined force of Samar provincial unit of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) and local police of Sta. Rita, also in Samar.

Seized from him were a 357 Smith and Wesson magnum, three pieces of live ammunition for a caliber-357 gun; and a hand grenade.

The suspect is detained at the Sta. Rita police station and will face charges for illegal possession of firearms, ammunition, and explosives.
