Cops seize shabu worth P300K from drug peddlers in Camarines Norte busts

LEGAZPI CITY –– Police anti-illegal drug operatives seized on Tuesday night and early Wednesday suspected shabu (crystal meth) worth P300,000 from two separate buy-bust operations in Camarines Norte province.

In Daet, the capital of Camarines Norte, police arrested high-value targets Mark Jay Ramos, 22, a resident of Barangay Poblacion Norte, Paracale town; and Princess Baute, 27, a resident of Barangay Gahonon, said Major Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Bicol police spokesperson.

The suspects were caught selling shabu in a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay 1, Daet at 9:20 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 9.

Seized from the suspects were 16 sachets of shabu weighing 50 grams and the P20,000 marked money. The illegal drugs were estimated to be worth around P150,000, according to the police.

In Paracale, anti-narcotics operatives also arrested two suspected drug personalities and seized P150,000 worth of shabu in a separate buy-bust operation on Wednesday.

Major Elezaldy Calingacion, Paracale police chief, said Zaldy Galleta Jr., 32, and Melona Atentar, 40, were arrested in Barangay Poblacion Norte at 1:50 a.m.

Calingacion said the suspects were newly identified drug personalities.
Seized from them were six sachets of suspected shabu weighing 20 grams.

The suspects were in police custody and facing charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
