“Yung binabantayan nating LPA kahapon ay nalusaw kagabi at ‘yan po ay sumama sa tail-end of a frontal system,” weather specialist Shelly Ignacio said during the 5 a.m. live weather update of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Atmospherical Services Administration (Pagasa).

“So yung mga paulan po natin ngayon ay dahil po sa tail-end of a frontal system (So the rains that may persist today is because of the tail-end of a frontal system),” she added.

With the tail-end of frontal system, the areas of Bicol Region, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon), Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Aurora will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon or amihan is still affecting weather conditions in Northern Luzon, including Metro Manila.

This means that Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Central Luzon will have cloudy skies with rains due to the amihan.

The amihan, Ignacio said, will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over the Ilocos Region.

And the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms.
