PGH staff to get vaccinated next week
MANILA, Philippines — Health workers in the Philippine General Hospital are getting vaccines against COVID-19 next week.
Dr. Jonas del Rosario, spokesperson for the PGH, said the Pfizer vaccines were scheduled to arrive in the hospital on Feb. 15.
To be prioritized, he said, were doctors, nurses, technicians, other health-care workers, security and janitorial services.
“We were told that everybody in PGH will get the vaccine,” he said.
Based on a survey, around 75 percent of the PGH’s 2,200 employees were willing to be vaccinated. Since March 30, 11,492 PGH health-care workers were tested for the new coronavirus.
