The Makati City government has procured 42 biomedical refrigerators and laboratory freezers in preparation for the arrival of the COVID-19 vaccines. On Monday, Makati City Mayor Abby Binay said the procurement of refrigerators and freezers was to ensure that the shots were properly stored and safe from wastage. “As we wait for the vaccines to arrive, the city government is preparing the vaccination sites, depots, and other logistic needs for cold-chain management. I assure everyone that we are doing our best to achieve a 100 percent vaccination rate in Makati,” Binay said. She said the refrigerators and freezers would be placed in a vaccine depot being built at the City Hall quadrangle, which is expected to be completed by next week. —JeanNette I. Andrade
