3 suspects in ambush of ex-Pangasinan gov nabbed

DAGUPAN CITY –– Police in Pangasinan and Batangas on Sunday arrested three suspects in the ambush of former Pangasinan Gov. Amado Espino Jr. in 2019.

The Pangasinan police office said suspects Albert Palisoc, Benjie Latonio Resultan, and Armando Mangrobong Frias Jr. were listed as among the top 20 most wanted persons in the Ilocos region.

Palisoc and Resultan were arrested on the strength of arrest warrants issued by San Carlos City courts for murder, attempted murder, and frustrated murder. Frias was nabbed for murder.

The three, all residents of Urbiztondo town, also in Pangasinan, were arrested in San Juan, Batangas.

Recovered from the suspects were various firearms, ammunition, magazines, fake drivers’ license cards, and a Nissan Sentra.

Espino survived the ambush by the unidentified assailants who opened fire at his Toyota land Cruiser on Sept. 11, 2019.
