MANILA, Philippines — Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque has tested negative for the coronavirus but opted to isolate himself after one of his staff members got Covid-19.
“Work from home po tayo ngayon dahil meron po tayong isang staff member na nagpositibo,” Roque said Monday in an online briefing.
(We’re working from home at the moment because we have a staff member who tested positive for the coronavirus.)
“Bagamat negative po tayo kahapon noong tayo ay nag-PCR [polymerase chain reaction] para sa pagpupulong kay Presidente mamaya, e kinakailangan sumunod pa rin po sa mga protocols. So work from home at isolation muna tayo,” he added.
(Although we tested negative yesterday when we underwent PCR test for the meeting with the President later today, we have to follow protocols. So we’re working from home and in isolation.)
In September last year, Roque also placed himself under quarantine after one of his security aides contracted Covid-19.
His Covid-19 test also yielded a negative result at that time.
