TACLOBAN CITY – The prosecutor’s office in this city has been shut down for 14 days since Feb. 4 after one of its prosecutors tested positive for the new coronavirus disease (Covid-19).
In an advisory, the office also instructed all of its employees to undergo a 14-day quarantine.
“As the office is still close, all communications, counter-affidavit, motions, and other processes will be accepted electronically,” the advisory read.
Operations at the office will resume on Feb. 17.
As of Sunday, Tacloban has 1,757 Covid-19 cases of which 169 were considered active cases. It has 34 deaths.
Mayor Alfred Romualdez issued an order on Feb. 5 prohibiting all forms of mass gatherings “to mitigate the spread of Covid-19 virus.”
