MANILA, Philippines — Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso told public servants to have themselves vaccinated publicly against the new coronavirus to allay fears against vaccination.
“To show the government that we are serious about the vaccines, we will get ourselves vaccinated first to ease the fear of the people,” Domagoso said when he visited fire victims in Baseco and Santa Ana on Thursday.
“The people’s worries should be addressed by leaders. Leaders should be followed,” the mayor said.
Domagoso said he was willing to be publicly vaccinated to show that the vaccines were safe and to encourage the public.
The city government has already created a comprehensive vaccination roadmap.
