Cadiz City district hospital to return to regular hospital status after being a COVID-19 center

BACOLOD CITY –– The district hospital in Cadiz City in Negros Occidental will soon resume its function as a regular hospital after it was converted into a COVID-19 center during the height of the pandemic last year.

Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said the 150-bed hospital had been tasked to serve only COVID-19 patients but currently only has three cases left who tested positive for the virus.

Diaz said with the drop in COVID-19 patients, the hospital could now attend to patients suffering from other ailments.

“The provincial government is now finalizing its transition from a COVID-designated center to a regular hospital,” he said.

If there are COVID-19 patients, Diaz said they could be accommodated at the hospital’s isolation section and annex building.
