MANILA, Philippines — Baguio City hotels and similar establishments have been allowed to accommodate travelers despite being under general community quarantine this February, Malacañang said Friday.
The Inter–Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) granted this to Baguio City provided that health and contact tracing protocols are strictly implemented, presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said.
“The IATF likewise granted the request of Baguio City for its hotels and other accommodation establishments to accommodate leisure travelers while under the General Community Quarantine (GCQ) classification, subject to the observance of strict health protocols and contact tracing measures,” Roque said in a statement.
The entire Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) reverted to GCQ for the month of February after it recorded a surge in cases and the detection of the more infectious coronavirus variant.
