MANILA, Philippines — Manila City Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso signed on Wednesday the deed of absolute sale for the purchase of a P111-million private land for the local government’s socialized housing program.

According to Moreno, the city government was able to acquire the 6,003-square meter lot located at Pasigline in Sta. Ana through Ordinance No. 8115, which was enacted in 2006. This land acquisition is seen to benefit more than 600 families.

He said the lot will be used for the “Land for the Landless” program of the Manila Urban Settlements Office, which was tasked to provide adequate assistance to landless, poor, low-income informal settlers, and homeless families.
