DOH reports new 1,266 Covid-19 cases; total now at 530,118

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) reported on Wednesday an additional 1,266 cases of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19), bringing the current tally of Covid-19 cases in the country at 530,118.

The DOH said there are now 31,455 (5.9 percent of total cases) active cases of Covid-19 from the total count.

Meanwhile, there are also additional 130 recoveries, pushing the number of patients who have recovered from the disease to 487,721 (92 percent of total cases).

A total of 68 new deaths were recorded, which puts the Covid-19 death toll in the country to 10,942 (2.06 percent of total cases).

According to DOH, a duplicate recovered case was removed from the total count.

Nineteen cases that were previously tagged as recovered were reclassified as deaths after final validation.

The DOH said seven laboratories were not able to submit their data to the Covid-19 Data Repository System on Tuesday.
