Comelec sets March 31 deadline for partylist registration

MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has set on March 31 the deadline for party-list registration for the upcoming 2022 elections, Comelec Commissioner Rowena Guanzon said Wednesday.

“‘Yung registration ng party-list, ‘yung mga tunay ha, mino-move na namin ang deadline nyan ng March 31. Kapag hindi kayo umabot dyan wala nang motion for reconsideration ‘yan kapag nagfile kayo ng April 1,” Guanzon said in an interview with ABS-CBN’s Teleradyo.

(The deadline for partylist registration, for legitimate party-lists, is moved to March 31. If you do not file within that period, there will be no motion for reconsideration if you file on April 1.)

“So March 31 ang deadline niyo, tsaka ‘yung substitution ng list of nominees ninyo kailangan nakapublish. ‘Yung proof of publication isasubmit sa Comelec not later than November sa itong year na ito,” she added.

(So your deadline is March 31, and the substitution of the list of nominees should be published and the proof of publication be submitted to Comelec not later than November this year.)

The Comelec has so far recorded about 1.3 million voter applications for the upcoming elections, its spokesperson James Jimenez earlier said.

The poll body is eyeing to have four million new voters for the elections next year, with voter registration ending on September 30.
