Healthcare aides in Pasig to get pay hike, Vico Sotto says

MANILA, Philippines — More than 300 medical volunteers in Pasig City will receive an increase in their salary from P5,000 to P12,000 as they are expected to double their efforts amid the pandemic, City Mayor Vico Sotto said Tuesday.

“Mabigat ang katungkulan ng mga health center personnel natin, at madadagan pa ang responsibilidad nila. Kaya hindi sila dapat underpaid,” the mayor wrote in a Facebook post, adding that the health center personnel contributed to promoting the primary health care in the city.

(The duties of our healthcare personnel are huge, there will be added responsibilities. They should not be underpaid.)

“Ngayong taon, tinaasan natin ang sahod ng mga PASIG HEALTH AIDE mula P5,000 kada buwan hanggang P12,000,” he added.

(We increased their pay from P5,000 per month to P12,000.)

Sotto said 314 Pasig health aides would more than double this year.

Retired health aides in the city will also get P10,000 separation pay depending on their years of service, Sotto added.
