LUCENA CITY –– Police arrested 266 suspected drug pushers and seized an estimated P2.3 million worth of shabu (crystal meth) in Batangas province last month, the police said Tuesday, Feb. 2.
Colonel Rex Arvin Malimban, Batangas police chief, citing the January accomplishment report, said anti-illegal drug operatives confiscated a total of 371.35 grams of shabu (crystal meth) and 26.4 grams of dried marijuana leaves with an estimated Dangerous Drug Board value of P2,365,075 during the month-long anti-criminalities campaign.
The police also arrested 162 wanted criminals, of which 56 belong to the list of most-wanted felons in the province.
Authorities collared 386 illegal gamblers, 19 persons with illegal firearms, and seized 21 undocumented firearms.
Gun owners surrendered 71 firearms with expired licenses for safekeeping, the report said.
“The public support to Batangas police is a big help towards our common goal of a peaceful community,” Malimban said.
