MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte has promised that justice would be served for Filipino worker Mary Anne Daynolo who was reportedly found dead in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, Malacañang said Monday.
“Ang pangako po ng Presidente, mabibigyan po ng hustisya at katarungan ang pagkamatay ng ating kababayan na si Mary Anne Daynolo,” presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said in an online Palace briefing.

Roque said the National Bureau of Investigation is conducting an autopsy on Daynolo’s remains.
“May autopsy rin pong nangyayari ngayon sa panig ng NBI at lahat po ng gastos para ilibing si Mary Anne ay sagot po ng ating OWWA [Overseas Workers Welfare Administration],” said Roque.
(There is an autopsy being conducted by the NBI and all expenses for Mary Anne’s burial will be shouldered by the OWWA.)
“Magkakaroon rin po sila ng financial assistance at death benefit galing rin po sa OWWA sa takdang panahon,” he added.
(They will also receive financial assistance and death benefit from OWWA.)
Daynolo has been reported missing from her workplace since March 2020.
